In order to be healthy, kids need healthy teeth. It is that simple. Dental disease is largely preventable and should not be the most common chronic disease of childhood yet, sadly, it is. This is especially true among children from families with low incomes and communities of color.

Community water fluoridation (CWF) reduces tooth decay in children and adults alike. It is a brilliantly efficient, effective, safe, and equitable way to provide everyone, regardless the factors affecting their lives, with primary prevention. Yet despite over 70 years of experience and volumes of research, CWF is under attack at both the local and national levels.

It’s time to set the record straight on the benefits of community water fluoridation (CWF). For some children, fluoridated water is the only form of prevention available. Let’s do our part for a healthy start for all children by supporting community water fluoridation.
