CDC Statement on the Cochrane Review
The Division of Oral Health of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published comments on the recent Cochrane review of water fluoridation. The comments include a detailed comparison of the Public Health Service (PHS) recommendation that was released in April 2015 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Cochrane review to “explain where and why differences exist between the two documents.”
“…HHS maintains its confidence in water fluoridation as a valuable tool to prevent tooth decay in children as well as adults, and views it as the basis for the primary prevention of tooth decay.”
