Water Fluoridation Wins in Columbia, Missouri
The Columbia City Council voted unanimously on November 4, 2013 to continue fluoridating the city’s water. The vote took place after a three-hour meeting that allowed more than 30 community members to voice their opinions on the topic. More than half of the statements came from doctors and medical professionals who all supported adjusting the level of fluoride in water to protect Missourians’ health. Columbia is the 5th largest city in Missouri and has been fluoridating its water system that serves more than 91,000 residents since 1973.
