Madison, Wisconsin Votes to Continue CWF
The Madison Water Utility Board affirmed its support for keeping fluoride in the city’s water supply, voting to endorse a new fluoridation policy consistent with CDC recommendations. Madison has fluoridated its water since 1948. A report published by Public Health Madison and Dane County noted that community water fluoridation (CWF) helps to promote oral health by preventing tooth decay, particularly among poor residents. The board will next routinely review its fluoridation policy in 10 years.
